"Shades of Spring" at 7 Kids!

Hap-hap-happy Wednesday my darlins! Guess what? It's time for another fun challenge at 7 Kids Challenge Blog! And this fortnight's challenge theme is  . . .

Shades of Spring!

I'm thrilled that we're having Spring-like weather here in Richmond, VA, USA! (Actually, we just finished having a couple of  Summer-like days! Yikes...too early in the year for THAT kind of nonsense!! hehe!) The grass is greening up, the trees are leafing out, and tulips are starting to pop up all over the place!! So, this challenge is perfectly timed, I must say! And, YIKES! Have you visited 7 Kids College Fund lately?! There are so many fabulous new stamps including Elizabeth Bell, Sylvia Zet, and coming soon . . . Nellie Snellen Stamps! Wheetwhoo! I can't wait! My credit card is trembling! (So is my sweet hubby! Trembling, that is! LOL!) OK . . . on to my "Springy" DT project . . .

This little sweetheart is "Chloe" . . . and she's from the new Elizabeth Bell "Cottage Cuties" collection. Now, here's the deal . . . I visited my local craft store (Michael's) yesterday and they had a whole new batch of journals with matching pens . . . so, of course, several "jumped" into my shopping cart! hehe!! I decided to make another altered journal for this fortnight's 7 Kids challenge!! (You may remember, I made a pink one a few challenges ago!)

These are the EASIEST projects EVER!! I just added a few roses from Wild Orchid Crafts and a sentiment from my stash . . . oh, and of course my colored, stamped image . . . and VOILA! A fun little gift for that someone special! Here's another, "kinda" side view . . .

And there ya have it, kiddos . . . my "Shades of Spring" project for this fortnight's 7 Kids challenge! Now it's time for you to head on over to 7 Kids College Fund Challenge Blog and take a peek at all the gorgeous creations by my 7 Kids DT sistahs! Then, pull out your craft supplies and join us for this fortnight's "Shades of Spring" challenge (#44) at 7 Kids!! And you know why, right? 'Cuz it's always such fun!! PLUS, there is a fabulous prize to be won! That's right . . . one lucky winner (selected at Random) will win a $20.00 gift voucher to spend at 7 Kids College Fund Store! Cool, huh?!

Thanks much for visiting . . . and for your kind comments! Mwahhhhh!

Easter Parade at Sassy Cheryl's!

Hey there kiddos! Thanks so much for all the great "Southern Speak" suggestions for my little 6 year-old grandbaby, Sophie! I think it's time she started calling her mom and dad, "mama" and "daddy" . . . each spoken with at least 4 syllables! That'll be so cute! hehe! Oh, and get this . . . Sophie told me tonight, "Gramma, I think I get my good coloring talent from you." Bwahaha! I told Soph that she's far more talented than Gramma ever could hope to be! And it's true!

So now, my lovelies, let's talk about this week's challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog! Our sweet and bubbly and oh so talented Miz Judy is our hostess this week . . . and here's what she's chosen for this week's challenge theme . . .

Easter Parade!

Hmmmmm . . . bunnies and bonnets and eggs, Oh my!! hehe! And here's my "sassy"  DT card for this week . . .

This card features one of Sassy Cheryl 's images from last year! She's called "I wanna be a bunny (girl)"! And, get this . . . even though she's been "retired" from Sassy Cheryl's store, she's available for purchase right now . . . and she'll remain in Cheryl's store until April 2nd . . . for just $2.00! Whoohoo!! I just love her "sassy" attitude, don't you?! So, don't dawdle, ok?! If you want this little cutie patootie for your own digi image collection, you can find her HERE!  Here's a side view . . .

Oh, I have to tell ya . . . in the black &white digi image, I think those lines at the bottom are s'posed to be long blades of grass . . . but I magically transformed them into colored Easter eggs (or big colored boulders! bwahaha!) . . . which left one lone, long blade of grass! I have no idea what I was thinking . . . except I kinda like the big "eggs" on the ground! Hey . . . work with me here! It's art! hehehe!

My card "recipe" . . .
Whisper White Cardstock: Stampin' Up
DPs: K & Company
Sentiment, flowers, buttons, ric rac, charm, buttons, & ribbon: My stash
Dies: Spellbinders
Butterfly & border punches: Martha Stewart

Here's a peek at the inside . . .

And, finally . . .

You can find "Patty" HERE in Mo's online store. Here's a bit of a side view . . .

Care for a Spot of Tea?

Howdy doody . . . and welcome to my bloggity blog!! Hope you're having the most fabulous weekend! The weather here in Richmond, VA, U.S.A. has been spectacular!! Clear and sunny . . . and even a bit warm (in the high-70's!). I do believe that Spring has SPRUNG! Whoohoo!! Today I have card that was commissioned by my sweet sister, Dee. She needed something for a friend who is graduating college . . . so, clearly, "Congratulations" needed to be somewhere on the card! AND, her friend loves tea . . . so this is the image my sister selected . . .

Allow me to introduce you to "Tea Please", a Sarah Kay image from Stampavie. I just think she's as precious as can be!! Here's sort of a side view . . .

I used Lavender Lace cardstock from Stampin' Up layered on top of DCWV pastel cardstock (no idea what color it is . . . kinda matches, tho!). The sentiments are from Magnolia; seam binding is from The Ribbon Girl; metal filagree corners & flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts; pearl swirls from ZVA Creative; and the lace and that cute little "teapot" charm are from my stash!

Here's a close-up of the teapot charm and gorgeous Prima Petal Pin . . .

A peek at the inside . . .

A close-up of the sentiment . . .

And, last, but not least . . .

And that's it for me!! Thanks visiting . . . hope you enjoyed yourself! And, always, always, thank you so much for your sweet comments! Until next time . . . mwahhh!

Oh, and speaking of the "Aqua Mini Ribbon Kit," that happens to be one of the prizes for this challenge! The other prize is a gift voucher to Lili of the Valley! That's right! One lucky participant, selected at random by Random.Org, will win BOTH fabulous prizes! I am pea green with envy, I tell you!

Fabulous, huh?! So, this is what I can up with . . .

This little sweetheart is called "Party Hardy" and she's the brainchild of the very talented Krista Smith of Saturated Canary. I decided to make one of these fun "shaped" cards . . . and, I tell ya, it was so simple to make . . . but makes a big statement, don'tcha think? Here's a close up . . .

I colored this cutie patootie image with my trusty Copics (no Prismacolor pencils this time . . . I was so excited about putting this card together that I just plum forgot! hehe!). Here's a side view . . .

My card "recipe" . . .
